VGMTP

VGMTP is an initiative of ANZSGM, fully funded by the Victorian Department of Health.  The aims of the program are to increase the number of Advanced Trainees in Geriatric Medicine in Victoria as well as the number of sites where training takes place. In addition the program seeks to enhance the overall quality of training, and to provide leadership in geriatric medical education for other stakeholders.

VGMTP delivers 22 statewide training sessions per year for Advanced Trainees in Geriatric Medicine. The program is comprised of three training alliances encompassing health services across the state. The statewide training is complemented by training at the alliance level as well, providing locally focused, small group learning.

This site has been developed for the Advanced Trainees of the program. Here they can view upcoming sessions on our yearly program and register for and evaluate a training session. They can also view and print off their personal training record.

In addition to the education for advanced trainees, the VGMTP also provides a suite of open-access, online learning modules for junior doctors and other health professionals. These modules are housed on the ANZSGM website and can be accessed via the above link.
